Vybz Kartel Baby Mama Shorty Says She Will Wait 35 Years For Him + Kartel's gang responsible for more than 100 murders - Commissioner Ellington

April 12, 2014

Vybz Kartel was handed down a lengthy sentencing of 35 years to life in a Jamaican prison after being convicted for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams.

Kartel’s common-law-wife, Tanesha ‘Shorty’ Johnson, says she plans to wait 35 years for her man to be released from prison.

This means she will be celibating for 35 years but it even gets more interesting because Vybz Kartel, real name Adidja Palmer, will be 73 years old when he is eligible for parole.

Being eligible for parole doesn’t mean an automatic release from prison.

“I will definitely be waiting, I don’t have any reason to move on,” Shorty told the Star. “I intend to stand up for my three sons and also focus on him [Vybz Kartel]. The kids are not 100 per cent, but I am trying to keep them focused. I am taking it very, very hard, but I am not going to give up. There is a God and I have hope.”

Shawn Storm Rejected Deal From Prosecutor To Testify Against Vybz Kartel Who Got Hard Labour That Includes Sanitation & Landscaping Commissioner of Police Owen Ellington, has labeled convicted entertainer Vybz Kartel as a gang leader, whose gang was responsible for more than a hundred murders. He made that assertion in an interview with Dionne Jackson Miller, which was aired on RJR’s Beyond the Headlines and TVJ’s All Angles on Wednesday evening. The Commissioner's statement came a week after the entertainer and three others were sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams. He said the police had been tracking Kartel's activities for sometime but, he claimed, the entertainer was protected because of his popularity. Investigating the police The Commissioner also revealed that it was his office which started investigations into allegations of extra-judicial killings by some members of the police force in Clarendon. Elaborating, he explained that his office initiated the probe after its own information revealed that there were activities by some members of the force that needed further investigation. He added that once the probe was at a certain stage, it was then handed over to INDECOM. “There was indeed a red flag… I ordered investigations, I ordered the transfer individuals and those investigations were well advanced before INDECOM made a public statement about it,” he asserted. The Commissioner appeared to differ with INDECCOM in one particular respect; that of when might have been the right time to make a public statement on investigation. “I would not have made a public statement at the time they spoke because I didn’t want to alert individuals of the possibility of an ongoing investigation. They have spoken,” he said. Vybz Kartel and Shawn Storm Shawn Storm remained loyal to Vybz Kartel throughout the grueling murder trial that sent them both to prison for life. According to new reports, the prosecution approached Shawn Storm, real name Shawn Campbell, attorney to strike a deal to testify against Vybz Kartel in return for his freedom. Speaking with the Observer, Shawn Storm’s attorney Miguel Lorne says his client rejected the deal because he feel he was not part of any plan to kill Lizard. “I was approached by the prosecutor who made the offer,” Lorne said. “I discussed it with my client and he said there was no fact. He was not part of any plan to kill anybody so he refused. He said there was no fact. As an attorney I have to follow my client’s instructions.” “He refused because he maintains that he was never involved in any murder and to take that offer would have signalled that he was guilty of participating in murder,” Lorne added. “I even discussed it with his mother and she said she was glad he refused.” Director of Public Prosecution Paula Llewellyn also confirmed that lead prosecution in the high profile murder trial made the offer. A rep for the former Portmore Empire deejay also weigh in on the news saying that innocent men don’t cut deal with prosecutors. “If your innocent then why would you want to cut a deal with this prosecutor who is bent on sending you to prison for a crime you did not commit,” Shawn Storm was sentenced to life imprisonment by Justice Lennox Campbell in the HomeCircuit court last week Thursday. He will be eligible for parole in 25 years. Vybz Kartel, born Adidja Palmer, was sentenced to life and will be eligible for parole in 35 years. Kahira Jones and Andre St John were also sentenced to life and will be eligible for parole in 30 and 25 years respectively. In handing down the hefty sentencing, Justice Lennox Campbell noted that the four men premeditate the murder and put the victim under severe stress leading up to the August 16, 2011 murder. The judge also noted the gruesomeness of how Clive “Lizard” Williams was killed and how the men took steps to conceal his body and destroyed evidence. Clive Williams’ body was never found. “Usually when inmates are given life sentence with hard labour they do a lot of bushing and landscaping,” the source told us. “Also because there are no sanitation workers in at the Tower Street Adult Correctional Centre, he will be doing sanitation work and yes that includes cleaning toilets and mopping floors.” Vybz Kartel: “I Will Not Be Recording Music In Prison” {VIDEO} Listen to some of the BONE-CHILLING Cell Phone VOICE Messages That Got VYBZ KARTEL Life in Prison With Vybz Kartel's recent life sentence, his common law wife releases his sons' first single on her newly formed record label Short Boss Muzik. Check out the tune below: Vybz Kartel music The debate over whether or not Vybz Kartel will be recording new music in prison is over. Lawyers representing the dancehall star says he has no intentions of recording behind bars after carefully evaluating the proposals. “He has no intention of recording while in custody,” Kartel’s lead attorney Tom Tavares-Finson said after the deejay was sentenced to life imprisonment last Thursday. Tavares-Finson came to the conclusion after receiving a letter from the judge inquiring about whether or not Kartel should be allowed to make music in prison. “That is the most ridiculous proposition I have ever heard that he [Kartel] should be given authority to record while in custody,” Tavares-Finson added. “The person was not convicted to do music, he was convicted to do hard labour.” A rep for the former Portmore Empire said that Kartel says he will not be recording new music in prison given the harsh treatment from the system. “After the system finish tearing you down then they want to use you, so no Addi [Vybz Kartel] will not be recording new music to make more money for the system to tear down ghetto youths,” the rep said. Vybz Kartel, real name Adidja Palmer, Shawn “Storm” Campbell, Andre St John, and Kahira Jones were all given life sentences by a High Court judge on April 3, 2014. Vybz Kartel will be eligible for parole in 35 years when he is 73 years old. The four men were convicted of the August 16, 2011 murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams, who cops say was killed over two missing guns belonging to Vybz Kartel. The controversial voice notes were leaked and has surfaced on social media sites and on YouTube. Police say hey extracted over 24 voice notes from a Blackberry smartphone they seized from the dancehall star. Some of these voice notes were obtained by Nationwide News in Jamaica. In several of the voice notes Vybz Kartel could be heard telling someone name Problem Child that he want back his two shoe, another name for guns, or else someone is going to die. {AUDIO} Dahved Levy talked to VYBZ KARTEL'S lawer about GUILTY verdict and possible APPEAL, took CALLS from his RADIO listeners and Played one of Kartel's last interviews before he went to jail voice notes in the below video. Shawn “Storm” Campbell, André St John, and Kahira Jones were also given life sentences for the murder. Campbell and Jones will be eligible for parole in 25 years and Williams in 30 years. Vybz Kartel going to prison The Police High Command has issued a lengthy statement on Vybz Kartel high profile trial. In the statement sent out to the media yesterday, the Police High Command says it has launched a criminal investigation into the handling of the case. Among the many problems of the case the police listed were witness intimidation, obeah ritualsm conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. Read the full statements below: The Police High Command takes this opportunity to commend the members of the Constabulary who were involved in the investigation and recently concluded murder trial of Adidjah Palmer et al. The case generated a considerable amount of public interest and was fraught with challenges for the Police and all others who worked in support of the prosecution to achieve the outcome that was sought. This opportunity is being taken to highlight the fact that this result came only through excellent teamwork on the parts of numerous individuals within and outside of the Constabulary, in particular, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. This landmark case has broken several new frontiers for the Constabulary, most notably in the area of forensic evidence, and in particular, the collection, handling and presentation of evidence from digital devices. Despite challenges from the defence, the digital evidence successfully tied the accused persons to the crime. However, as the trial progressed, opportunities were presented for the Police to assess the soundness of the techniques and procedures used in the handling of digital evidence, and significant steps are already underway to improve certain procedures in this area. The case also presented numerous security challenges, which resulted in a considerable amount of resources being deployed to protect the prosecutor, prosecution witnesses, including Police officers, and relatives of the victim. In the aftermath of the trial, additional resources have had to be found to protect some members of the jury. Numerous persons connected to the case in one way or another on the side of the prosecution have expressed concerns about their personal security. In the face of the myriad of challenges, intimidatory tactics and threats to prosecution witnesses throughout the trial, the prosecution could not make a single complaint due to the possibility that it could undermine the right of the accused to a fair trial. Now that the trial is over, we are under no further obligation to remain silent about the challenges and threats endured by the prosecution. Attempts to Pervert the Course of Justice During the trial, a number of developments took place which we are now at liberty to highlight. These developments were focused primarily around attempts to pervert the course of justice. First, we would like to highlight that very early during the investigation, it emerged that a female DJ was allegedly instructed by Adidjah Palmer via SMS (text messages) to make a report to the Constant Spring Police Station alleging that she was held up and robbed by Clive Williams, the man we knew at the time to be dead. This matter was investigated by the Police and placed before the court, but was adjourned pending the outcome of the murder trial. This case will be back before the court on June 6, 2014. Based on material extracted from the cellular phones of the convicted men we became aware that Mr Palmer had become very concerned about the presence of Scenes of Crime investigators gathering evidence at the crime scene at 7 Swallowfield Avenue, St. Andrew. Shortly afterwards, the house was mysteriously torched but there were no signs of any similar concern by Mr. Palmer about the destruction of his residence. The examination done by the Government Forensic Laboratory revealed that the fire was deliberately set as the evidence collected was not consistent with an accidental or non-deliberate fire. Traces of gasoline were found in different sections of the house and on items of furniture.
